Live, Hope, Laugh – is dedicated to improve the lives of chronically ill children and teens through various designated programs set-up through the organization and implemented throughout the year. These programs are designed to reach out to the families and bring hope and laughter back into the children’s lives. Currently they are supporting 23 families in Carroll County being supported by this program.
Carroll County Food Sunday – is a non-profit group of volunteers supporting Carroll County residents in meeting their emergency and supplemental food needs. They distribute a weekly, nutritionally balanced grocery package meant to last 3 – 4 days. Over 400 families a week are served.
Rape Crisis Intervention Service of Carroll County – a non-profit organization providing free counseling and other support services to victims of sexual violence and their families. In 2013, they worked with over 1,200 individuals and their families.
The Shepherd’s Staff – reaches out and supports those people and families in crisis, aid those in need and to seek out and encourage pathways to self-sufficiency.
Kids in Safety Seats Program, Carroll County Health Dept. – this program purchases new child restraints for the residents of Carroll County and loans them to financially in need and at risk-families.
Camp C.O.P.S (Courage to be Outstanding with Pride and Self confidence) – is designed to bring a better understanding of Law Enforcement to the youth of Carroll County, while working in the atmosphere of a police academy. The event is held at the Carroll County Farm Museum and is open to all children ages 10 – 14. Topics include Team Building, Gun Safety, DUI activity, Drug Talk, First Aid/CPR and Bomb Squad Robot demo to name a few.
The Dove House Hospice Care Center - The Dove House offers some patients who may require short-term symptom management that cannot be provided in their current residence. In these instances, Dove House, our beautiful, home-like inpatient facility is an excellent option. The Dove House offers a warm, supportive environment to receive high-quality comfort-oriented care. We promote relationships with family, caregivers and loved ones in our inpatient facility, just as we do when caring for a patient at home. Family and friends are encouraged to visit anytime and may stay overnight if they wish.
Camp Barrett is an Elks' multi-season, 140 acre camp facility nestled in an isolated forest of tall trees and deep ravines, surprisingly located just a few minutes from the Annapolis Mall, Historic Annapolis City Dock, and the United States Naval Academy (USNA). Each Year the Elks Camp Barrett hosts various camp programs. These programs include the Elks Family Picnic for members of the Elks, The Camp Barrett Summer camp of 6 weeks for boys and girls 9-13 of Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia, the Johns Hopkins Oncology's Camp Sunrise for children afflicted with cancer, the Adult Jamboree weekend for Elk Members and the Scout Jamboree for Boy Scouts in conjunction with the US Naval Academy.
